Crosby (1903-77) had launched on mid-1920s records and radio. He came to film as part of the Rhythm Boys trio, singing with Paul Whiteman's orchestra for "King of Jazz." Soon, the boys were kaput, but Crosby would reach new heights as a solo. Hear where America first saw him.
